About Us
At Bragg Creek Robotics, our Coaches are committed to leading the team with respect to achieve high quality work, while showing that we care and value each other, our community and our world. We use FIRST LEGO Challenge seasons to bring a fun filled STEM program to the Bragg Creek area. We believe the FIRST Core Values of teamwork, inclusion, impact, discovery, innovation and fun are essential. We hope to pass along these values as well as a positive attitude to every team member.
Our Story
Our Robotics Team was brought together in 2015 when a friend and FIRST Robotics Mentor, Craig Maynard, started the Redwood Meadows Robotics Club for children ages nine to fourteen in our community. Coach Nick took an interest and volunteered alongside his daughter's team. The following year Craig handed the team over to Nick, where he changed the name to Bragg Creek Robotics. For five seasons (from 2015 to 2020) Bragg Creek Robotics had four inspiring coaches (Head Coach Nick, Dave, Steve and Ashlynn with Amber assisting) to guide our teams in the, FIRST LEGO League Challenge Seasons; TRASH TREK, ANIMAL ALLIES, HYDRO DYNAMICS, INTO ORBIT and CITY SHAPER. Coaches Nick and Ashlynn also taught a self designed play based, "Intro. to Robotics" for young children aged six to nine. We took a break from team meetings in 2020 - 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic; only able to provide a few fun filled "design, build, program and game" style sessions for a limited cohort. For the 2023 to 2024 FIRST FLL Challenge season, MASTERPIECE we had three coaches (Nick, Ashlynn, Evan and Amber assisting) and gathered a small team of five children. The team grew to nine members, in the 2024 to 2025 Season, SUBMERGED and the coaching team also changed a little with Head Coach Nick and Coach Evan leading the classes with Coach Amber assisting.
Bragg Creek Robotics has been blessed with the chance to lead a LEGO robotics team for the last decade and hopes to mentor and inspire for many years to come.
